Is that the bud in your profile pic? It does look like a Wisteria bud but mine have finished flowering now so it would seem to be late.

thorneyside: yours has finished flowering? Ours here in London hasn't opened up yet... usually it flowers around now or towards end of May!

I would say yes. mine aren't open yet though next doors is almost over. But my bit of garden is less sheltered than theirs.

I have to say you are right Bamboo regarding usual flowering time as I bought mine in flower some years ago with birthday money and my birthday is nearly end of May.

I checked an old photo of the wisteria in full flower here - it was taken the third week of May. I can't remember for certain, but I don't recall it starting to flower in April ever...and its not in an exposed position. Wonder why yours has been so early this year...
