Strangely I have had two of these grow from nowhere this year! Perhaps with some topsoil that came in a couple of years back, or courtesy of the birds! They grow really tall and take up a lot of space but the flower spike is good. I assumed it was a Verbascum

the seed is very light and can be blown in or carried on the fur/feathers of an animal.

it is one of the mulleins or Verbascum . not sure which one but it will have yellow flowers.
