Help with replacing summer plants in my borders please

Hi everyone, I hope you are all well on here. I really need help with replacing summer plants in my borders please.
I had to remove a lot of plants that were toxic to cats recently and stuck for ideas now. Would like to plant perennials and keep costs down as a lot to fill in. I like cool colours and uniform planting. Not sure whether to just plant fast growing ground cover plants in the first pic?Which would look better - small or tall plants in there?

Thanks - I did think about Campanula..... I’ll check out Aubretia.

Also hardy geraniums

There's also oxalis which I've grown for years, taken with me whenever I've moved house. It's pink and flowers all summer if planted in the sun. I don't know if it's toxic (doubt it) but all my cats lived to a great age.
If you want taller plants try Penstemon which come in various colours.

I already have a lot of hardy Geraniums thanks, but Oxtalis sounds a good one Arbuthnot. Not sure how to stagger Penstemons, in groups of how many would you say?

Campanulas: avoid poscharskyana which l cover everything it meets, and glomerata which runs rather as well.
Smaller ferns and hostas with spring bulbs if the border is shady and perhaps some Sedum spectabile (one of the red leaved ones) for a sunny one.

Thanks, that’s an idea about Hostas. I have some in pots I could put in the first pic border. Will check out the others.

Oxalis floribunda is the one Arbuthnot is recommending. I'm saying this as there are some terrible weeds among the oxalis family, but that's a good one

Lavender, creeping phlox, creeping thyme, campanula and aubretia spring to mind. They haven't poisoned my pup yet and she eats everything.
