early/midseason apple crop would that be about now would you think, I've a new apple tree called 'scrumptious' a cross between golden delicious and discovery, it has 2 apples which look about ready to pick, many thanks

Lift the apples gently between finger and thumb and bend it upwards. If the apple parts easily from the tree then it is ripe. Midseason to us is about another 2 weeks.
