hi am growing beetroot they were looking good until they started seeding could i have prevented this or is it hit or a miss tia

Were they sown somewhere where it gets too hot/too dry? I haven't had many beetroots bolt in my garden luckily. I think that they'll have a tendency to bolt if under stress, hence asking whether they were too hot or dry. I can recommend the variety Boltardy though as this one has never bolted for me and is very tolerant of different weather extremes.
