Agapanthus copied from FB A number of peduncles have fused together so the head of flowers is huge I am not sure how common this is in Agapanthus

its called fasciation and is not uncommon in many plants. it is often associated with damage to the developing part of the plant months ago.

Fasciation, yes, and in this case, with a beautiful result, that flower looks wonderful. May never happen again...
