I don't know this make but if it is electric then not a good idea in the rain. what does the manual say?

Aside from above, it cuts cleaner with dry grass.

It's petrol driven, but even so cutting the grass when its wet is not really a particularly good idea as the trimmngs can be difficult to deal with when wet.

I struggle during the winter to keep my grass cut. I live in a warm winter area, but that is also when there is a lot of moist grass, and it makes a big mess. Afternoons on a day when there is a wind to dry everything out works best. The cut grass will clump if it is wet, making it harder to cut. And it is more work to clean the strimmer afterwards. Better to let it grow another couple of days, IMO.
