Why did I not have any flowers from my jasmine this year? I pruned it in late spring

You don't say which Jasmine it is, but if you cut it back hard, that might explain why you have lost flowers. If its Jasmine officinale, one of the problems with it is people tend not to have enough space for it (30 feet high by about 12 or more wide) and so it has to be cut back hard to keep it in check, and that means you don't get as many, or sometimes no, flowers. Best time to attack it in this way is immediately after the main flush of flowers, not 2 months before.
