My prunus kojo is coverd with caterpillars, which don't good like your common a garden type. Are they okay to just leave on the shrub which I have in a pot, it is not in the garden, they seem to be eaing all the leaves, will new ones come through and will they eventually turn in to butterfies.

Can't say what they'll turn into, don't know what the caterpillars look like. Any chance of a photograph of them?

Possibly sawfly caterpillars, looking for rose foliage, but couldn't find any? Planty of them still around on roses yet. Phil J
