Hi all,

Wondering if someone maybe able to help me. Back in November I drove passed a garden with a very attractive tree, I couldn’t stop so only going by what I could briefly see. It had slender leaves and pretty pink flowers, would anyone happen to know what if could possibly be. Many thanks

the leaves is confusing me a bit as pretty pink flowers could be one of the early Prunus or Viburnums.
They usually flower on bare wood though. see what any one else suggests Pope dot.

Hi Seaburngirl I’m wondering if I’ve mistaken the pink for flowers, could it of been berries? Definitely not a viburnum.

The first thing I thought of was Forest Pansy. Bright pink flowers on bare wood. Heart shape leaves follow.

there are some pinked berried rowan varieties and the tree would still have had some of its leaves on by then.

Have a google and see if any match.

that's the one I was originally thinking of but no leaves usually when in flower.

I know the pink berries of the rowan are often not eaten as quickly as the red or orange ones.

Thank you all for your input and suggestions. Seaburngirl I’ve googled Roman trees and I think this is the tree. Thank you all.

I know it's a bit late but Tamarix ramosissima would be my suggestion.
