Vermiculate or Grit
I have some lupin seeds and it recommends covering them with a layer of vermiculate. I don't have any and wonder if horticultural grit would do instead?
My attempts with lupin seeds last autumn failed because of damping off, I think. So I woul rather avoid covering them with compost.

yes I remember you asking about it.
keep ventilation good. I find they self sow in the open garden very freely.

to be honest I have never had any problem with just using compost but if you want to then yes use grit.
