Back border conundrum. As you can see from the photo’s there is a line of dark & light soil in my back border. This is due to my neighbours overhanging hedge that I cut back every year nonetheless I end up with a dry path against the back. I’m looking to plant something that is drought tolerant but does get the sun. Any ideas? Would like to avoid creeping campanula as got that everywhere! Thank you.

Have got pachysandra terminalis that I can split it up and replant under there. Might give that a try. Thanks for your suggestions.

Have since purchased some Lamium so hopefully it will make that area look less bare. Thanks again for your suggestions.

There are ferns that would be ok there. I also have a plant called Pachysandra terminalis, its evergreen and grows well under hedges. Lamium would possibly be ok, I have one called Pink Pewter and it is happy under the beech tree which gets very dry in the summer.
