ID please?
This 18 inch high (so far) plant popped up last year.
(It is deciduous.)
I wonder if it is a tree, as the stem is so straight.

my first thought on seeing it was goat willow too. Certainly in that family.
it will grow into a substantial tree so unless you really want it pull it up now while the root system is quite small.
