My neighbours and I have viburnam hedges, this year they are being eaten by some sort of flying bug - I would be very grateful for any suggestions of what it migh be or how to get rid of it.

It might be the viburnam beetle (see link). Apparently they cause a lot of damage and need insect repellent treatment from what I've read. More info. if you do a google custom search on GOY (top right of your GOY page. Hope that helps, Etmolan.

Alternatively, don't look at it through winter, enjoy the flower from a distance, and wait 'til spring, then cut it all off. Phil J
