Hibiscus

Lancashire, United Kingdom

Will it be ok to plant my new Hibiscus in the spot that I take up the struggling dicentra from?
It is in quite a wet, exposed place but drains quite quickly but never dries out. What do you think, any advice?

Hmm. I don't think that it would like being too wet. my RHS book says 'well-drained, humus-rich soil'. Especially with autumn on its way, it might struggle in wet soil and its roots could well rot.

I agree with spritz. Planting a hibiscus in a wet position is asking for heartbreak

Its going to be a hard search for somewhere un-boggy in my garden lol The only thing i can think to do is to put it at the top of the back garden which is about ten foot higher than the lower level and obviously isnt as wet. Thank you for the help, the advice is much appreciated and I will take it.
