I have an area in my garden that is difficult to plan and plant as it is so dry. Can anyone suggest a planting scheme

gravel garden, arrid type approach to plants ie: grey leaved furry plants, sedums, semperviviums, alpines in a scree setting, all ideal for a dry aspect. I'm assuming this is an open light area not too shaded ? Have a peek at the gravel garden ideas blog.
