Probably native hedging then, to be on the safe side. The are plenty of options when it comes to hedging, but many evergreens will suffer in poor soil. However, look at prunus lusitanica (Portugal laurel). Griselinia littoralis (very tolerant of salt laden winds), might be an option. Have a look at what grows naturally and follow the leads. Phil J
