My small Pieris bush has its leaves going pale yellow it still flowers and goes red at the top any ideas?

Welcome to GOY too. Pieris require an acid soil so it sounds as if it's struggling with that. You can get feed for Azaleas, rhododendrons and these that require acid soil and you can add special compost too.
There are various sites like Gardener's World in the UK which tell you how to care for them.

are all the leaves yellowing or only the odd one? If it is all the green ones then this sounds like it might be a mineral deficiency. Give the plant a feed following the dilution instructions. If its just an odd one that is the older leaf dying.
Another thought has it got waterlogged?
