Asked from the GoYpedia clay soil plants page

Answers

Lots of plants - there are ideas on the 'Clay soil' page under 'C' at the bottom of the page. Roses love clay!

One word of advice, though - I know that clay soil is very difficult to work with, so try improving it by digging in lots of organic material, well-rotted manure, home-made compost and also horticultural grit.

If you can, dig it over and leave it rough for the frost to help you break it down during the winter, too. Every time you plant anything, make the hole bigger and back-fill with compost, too.
