I have found that some of the top leaves on my apple tree are curling up and there seems to be some sort of mite on them and I wondered if what is best to spray them with without affecting the apples

Difficult to take clearer picture but they are very small reddy colour and you can see them moving about. The leaves seem quite sticky too

there appears to be aphids too and there are pinkish forms of that. aphids would explain the stickiness
either way they wont affect the fruit.
use a soapy water spray to get rid of the stickiness and greenflies.

Thank you for your help I will try using soapy water as you suggest

the RHS seems less concerned about mites on apples [I have red felt gall mites on mine] as they rarely affect fruiting. Though mites are microscopic and these seem to be bigger. Any chance of a clearer photo?
