Could anyone tell me why my hawthorn hedge is dying please. We have lived here for 34 years and the hedge was here when we moved in. Only started vying last two years.

it is a very mature looking hedge so it may just be down to old age.

Remove the dead material and perhaps plant other native hedging plants to fill the gaps. That ill help keep your hedge and look natural.

Mine is doing exactly the same, old age I assumed. We've been told by neighbours it was planted in the 70s. Such a shame it's fantastic bird habitat, especially for groups (mobs!) of tree sparrows here.

How do I say thanks?
