My crinodendron is now 15 ft high and healthy , full of beautiful red lantern blooms but now needs to be cut back a bit . It is far too big to deadhead. I received it as a cutting from a friend 25 years ago and it is a feature in the garden. What is your advice? I do not want to risk damaging it.
Thank you.

welcome to GoY,

the RHS recommends restorative pruning where you prune down 1/3 of the shrub one year then another 1/3 the year after and the final 1/3 in the next year.
