What are these deposits in my tiny new pond?

Answers

well they look like poo from some creature but not sure what they could be. possibly worm casts but not sure why they'd be white. Some snails leave a similar looking trail.

not frog or toad though.

I'm baffled by it. There's such a lot that I was hoping for an amphibian, but never seen this before.

Looks like a few earthworms that got in over their head...5 days post mortem

Haha Loosetrife. I think you’re joking? They appeared overnight. My son thinks it’s probably bird poo.

Never seen any bird poo that shape. Very strange!

Thankyou all. I've never seen bird poo like that either and not convinced. Poop-a-doodle-do indeed!

I was going to suggest asking the Devon Wildlife Trust but they appear to be closed at present - but there may be some staff there even if they are closed to the public. Alternatively try the Cornwall Wildlife Trust. A bit of a shot in the dark but you never know our luck- they are bound to have somebody there who will know.

Stera, I never thought of that and it's a great idea. Thank you and I'll let you know if I ever get an answer.
