What do I do now that the beautiful lilies that I planted this year for the first time have finished - they have been magnificent but I would quite like to move them away from two large shrubs which tended to overshadow them as the summe wore on. Same questuin about large begonias which have been in large terra cotta containers - again magnificent blooms but now looking very sorry for themselves!

You can dig up and replant your lilies now, in the garden. As for the begonias, if they're summer bedding ones, they won't survive the winter, they're something you plant every year in late May.
