On plant Paulownia tomentosa

Hard to find a container big enough to keep one for more than a couple years, and they don't take all that well to hard pruning. I would try a Vitex agnus-castus, or a Chitalpa, instead.

Hmmm...Vitex in West Yorkshire? It can get very cold in the winter there, Tug. It would need protection there.

Oops! Here I was thinking about what I had heard of Scarborough, forgetting what the difference was like between Seattle, Washington, and the hills inland from it. Yeah, I guess maybe in the ground with mulching, but in a pot would be a risk. Thank you Spritzhenry!

You're welcome, Tug. :-)
