Can I use ericaceous compost as a substitute for multi-purpose? I have a lot of the former and very little of the latter. Thanks!

Thanks Eileen. Do you know many acid haters … I can’t think of any?

I have quite a bit of Ericaceous too,,and only approx 5 shrubs that need it,but I just give them a good mulch when the time is right.. about now,so that will use quite a bit of it. The Pieris and Camellia's will appreciate it :o),but I find it keeps ok, for the following year. It would be useful if you could let us know if it works to mix for other plants/shrubs too,Sheila. . :o)

Sandra, I will mainly be using it when I plant out annuals as the soil is so hard, so I doubt if I’ll see a marked difference … hope not anyway!

It will be worth a try ,Sheila, and it will be interesting to see how your Annuals react,if at all . At least,it's only for a summer season, so I can't see it making a lot of difference ,to be honest. keep us posted won't you ? :o)
