Is adding Calcified Seaweed the same as adding Lime?

Answers

Welcome, Martind!
Been reading up on it, and it has some of the same effects as lime, though a little slower than standard slaked lime--also less likely to burn if overdone! In addition, it contains organic material to improve soil structure, biology, and chemistry, plus nitrogen and phosphorus. On the down side, it is a mined product, with only a few sources, so is not a sustainable resource. A sustainable alternative is a mixture of bone meal and kelp meal, possibly with added limestone in acidic soils.
