oh yes I have, I rarely get straight ones. They go through the mesh that i use to support them and where the cuc touches the mesh they grow slower there. hence the curve.
the Victorians made glass tubes for the cuc to grow into.

This is the sort of thing that the EU was fighting ! Thank goodness we can grow them any shape they come in these days!
