I have just taken out my lilies as they have all died off (tops) can you tell me the next steps, where to store when to set etc etc

I usually turn them out of the pots and replant in fresh damp compost.3 x as deep as the bulb is tall. I then pop them in a frost free place until spring. I occasionally check they have not dried out. then come spring I increase the watering slightly and when growth is up above the soil I water as and when needed.

Yes, the best place to store lilies is in the ground where they grew. Now is a good time to transplant them, if you need to. Definitely don't store them bare: the bulbs dry out too fast!

thats so true. I have some in the ground but I also grow them in large pots [4litres+] to place around the garden when 'bare ' spots appear.
