Please can somebody advise me what would be suitable flowers to use in planters for this time of year in southern england to provide a good show?

Do you mean "for this time of year" or for winter?

I live in the South East and grow Pansies, Primulas, miniture bulbs such as Iris, Tulip, Narcissus, Chionodoxa, Snowdrops. I usually add an Ivy and a miniture fir tree too, in pots and baskets. These mixed together I find gives a good all winter show. I dont feed and dont find I need to water either.

And a previously answered question. Again, it's Spritzhenry who gives the fullest answer.
