Am not going to ask friend or foe as I'm guessing it's either a butterfly or moth caterpillar- both welcome in my garden. Whilst cutting my lawn edges I came across dozens of them. Any ideas?

Came across quite a few so hopefully some will undergo the next life cycle and transform into moths.

probably a scarlet tiger moth. Found in the South and South west England. Not rare but not common either. Nice find.
