Hi, can someone please identify this plant for me? It's just grown from nowhere in a corner of my garden so it's probably a weed but I don't want to pull it out just yet in case it's something nice. Sorry, photos aren't much to go on. Thanks for any info.

if it is what I think, they can get 20ft or more tall.

But it can be kept as a shrub if pruned.

Many thanks to you both. I think I'll let it grow quite tall because it will give a bit of cover to the garden.

reminds me of one of the laurels or false laurels.Though not 100% sure. It will have been a gift from the birds. Looking at it it will grow into a substantial shrub.
