The lack of nutrients is the cause of the yellowing of the leaves. Feed with an acid-loving fertiliser like Miracle-Gro Azalea, Camellia & Rhododendron Soluble Plant Food. As far as the flower drop, the buds are fixed in late summer of the previous year so a feed of potash (tomato feed will do if you have some at hand) should help.
