I'm wondering if these foxgloves(grown from seed) could be planted out now rather than wait for the Autumn?

I suppose they could, it would give them a better chance of settling in before the winter.

I'd certainly plant them out now. I think the advice comes from the assumption that they are replacing plants that have been doing their thing over the summer.
It would certainly give them a better chance of settling in with good roots.
