Hi, We are moving house & wish to take our Dicksonia Antarctica with us. It is planted in the garden & suffered last year from a water shortage, so this year has 3 small fronds. When & how is best for digging up.
Thanks. S&M

They do not have roots really like ordinary plants, the roots extend down from the growing part through the trunk. That is why they are so easy to dig up and export from Tasmania etc.
Enjoy your new home.

Previous question
When it is dormant. BUT, do make sure you exclude the plant from the sale, otherwise the plant belongs to the house and must be left behind.
