I grew 6 Hostas from seeds last year. They all look very much like the plant from which the seed came, except, that 5 of them are about 6 inches across now and the 6th is only 2 inches across with much smaller leaves. It has had exactly the same growing conditions, compost, feed etc. as the others.
Is it possible that I have got a very mini-hosta?

No sign of anything eating the roots. I just wondered if I have been lucky and got a tiny form of Hosta. I know there are small ones around.

Been growing Hostas from seed for a long time. Mainly to use as slug food, first time I have had one as small as this one.

make sure it doesn't become mollusc food then. Was it
seed from a named species/variety?
exciting

Could it have crossed with a small one like mouse ears or similar?

Seed came from a named, lost label one. Not sure if there were any really tiny ones nearby. Nearest mini was Yellow Boa. My seedling has the same leaves as the bigger ones, just a lot smaller. Fascinating to speculate.

I wonder if it might be Hosta 'Blue Mouse Ears'.

Wrong colour for that one. Did have it, but it did not survive.

That's a shame.
