Hi all. I bought a climbing Rose "Golden Showers" back in late June. It flowered well for several weeks, then nothing. It's healthy enough, I'd fed and watered it too.
Any advice on pruning etc before winter?
Many thanks.

Thanks Jimmy! It's in the ground, planted right next to my pergola. I'm hoping it'll find it's way up the structure 🤞
It's position is in sunshine morning and then late afternoon.
Hope this helps! Thanks again.

I would wait until all the leaves have dropped. Perhaps take about four of the strongest branches and prune any side branches back to the last bud. You can then space the remaining apart. Look to get the four brances to the top before stopping them. No more feeding until the spring and I would go for just a high potash fertiliser alone. Don't forget to spray with Roseclear before the new buds burst so all of the bare branches and pergola have a treatment for overwintering blackspot.

Thanks so much, Jimmy! I appreciate your advice, that's great to know. I'll follow your guidance.
Best wishes, Kate.

Kate, how have you grown your rose? Is it in a container or in the ground. Is it growing up a pergola or a trellis? If you describe the conditions, we will be better understanding how to help.
