Do Sanbucus plants spread?

I would like to plant several different varieties of Sambucus but was wondering if they "pop up" everywhere as the common elder does in my garden!

Hi,i have one of these in my garden as i love the leaf shape,i have no others popping up in my garden & mine is 5years old now.
