Well, I managed to compost all the nasturtiums and coleus and dahlia tops that have been knocked over by the frost and I planted some new crocuses and some giant snowdrops. Quite pleased with my efforts!

I had a lovely sunny afternoon in the garden, thanks Mark. I've finished clearing the brambles and gorse out of a new area and have spent some days planting up new stuff. Got a bargain in a "well known chain of DIY stores" - I bought 30 violas for £1.50 and all but one were OK. I planted those too for a filler-in while the shrubs and perennials I've planted get going.

(Whisper it - it was Homebase.) I've been lucky with bargains several times at B&Q too - it is just chance if you're there when the chap with the "reduced" stickers decides it's time to shift the stragglers. If you go back for more the next day they've all gone - I know, I've tried it. I've gone specially after bank holidays in the past, hoping to strike lucky and not had a sniff of a reduction. This time we'd gone in for glue and came out with a trolley load of plants. :-)
