Gazania------I have some lovely clumps on my garden that I grew from seed this year, will they survive the winter.? So far the frost appears not to have affected them . Thank you .

I lost all mine in the winter sadly. Though many people do manage to overwinter them.

Mine turned to mush - but I dug up a clump and over-wintered them in the greenhouse, where they flowered happily for ages, in fact, they're flowering again now!

Thanks Shirley, I got quite exited at the prospect of them surviving, then Seaburngirl and Spritz said they lost theirs. Hmmm whats a girl to do ?
Dig some up and leave some and see what happens ?

Yes, I do too. I don't know where in the UK you are, Valadel, or whether your garden is sheltered etc. You'll know that I'm in a mildish area...but that winter just finished a lot of plants off, didn't it.

I'm in the South West Spritz and normally I would take a chance but as you say after last year, brrr, so have already taken some up and put them in a friends greenhouse.

That's good. I've been enjoying the Gazanias in my g'house. The two plants seem to have gone on and on with their flowers! :-)))

I can only say that my Gazanias survived the last Winter, in the ground, they grew big enough for me to split up and have flowered all Summer !
