You can cut them down if you want, but its probably best to leave the leaves to die back naturally - this adds a bit of protection for the crown. Faded flowerheads and their stems can be removed immediately after they've faded, so those can be taken off now if you've not done it.

There are also evergreen ones which should not have their green leaves removed at all.
