i purchased some raspberry canes to grow on they have come through the raspberry shoot is coming through on a fork and not on individual ones i have grown them previously and have not come along this problem any advice would be gratefully appreciated thankyou

As Doctorbob says, at this time of year they should be cut down as the fruit will be borne on the new canes emerging from the rootstock next year.
However, there is no problem with 'forking' as it just means you will have a couple of canes instead of one.

If you have just planted your raspberry canes, you should have cut them down to 9 inches for summer ones, autumn canes should be cut down to ground level in February.
