This is Tradescantia Spathacea. Also called Moses in a boat. A succulent native of Mexico and central Am. It can be very invasive and has become a problem in Florida and South Texas.

It will have to be someone in the USA who answers this one. 'Boat Lily' doesn't appear in my ref.books! Sorry! Unless you have a photo or its latin name?
