Eucalyptus Trees

We had a rather large but very beautiful eucalyptus tree growing in our garden and it was beggining to become something of a nuisance with regard to its size. My husband has cut it doen to about a 3ft stump and I am positively mortified!! He led me to believe he was going to cut some of the height from it and that it would continue to grow despite this. Now all I'm left with is this stump is there any chance of it recovering. He hasn't split or treated the stump. Thanks

True. Indeed one is supposed to do this with them to keep getting the new young shoots with the best foliage.

Don't despair, it will soon start to send out masses of new shoots.
