London, England

I have a purple hyacinth, that has decided to flower NOW! I was woindering if I should be at all worried, and if so, what temperatures I should bring in to protect it.

Thanks in advance.

If its a southfacing windowsill there, Alex (and I know you're in London) I'd leave it right where it is - it'll be very sheltered up against the window like that anyway.

well if it has grown during the cold it must be happy. If you have a hard frost or snow forcast then you could bring it in. I wouldnt worry.

I have a North facing windowsill, and that is where it is sitting.

would it be better to move it round the corner to the East facing windowsill instead?

The temperature is currently 0c, (just checked the thermometer on the East windowsill.) (7:03pm)

I suppose it will get colder as the night closes in, so maybe I will bring it in for the night and tuck it in bed with me to keep warm.

LOL!

Don't worry Alex, it seems happy enough doesn't it...if you move it to somewhere much warmer it will just wilt or go really leggy.

O.K then, thanks Karen.
