Years ago my Nan did this on one occasion, and from what I remember, they were fine. She dug them up made dinner with them.

She didn't do them again, but I think this was because she didn't have the room.

Good luck.

Once you dig them up and cook them, you will know whether you want to do so again.

There is only one way to find out if they are too your liking.

I had some semi-spoiled potatoes from the supermarket once, cut the bad bits out, ate the rest and threw the bad bits into the compost. Later that year I had some strange plants growing where I had dug in some of my compost and to my surprise I had 2.5 lbs of potatoes growing! I dug them up when they were 'new' potatoes and had several lovely meals from them - just wish I could remember what variety they were! :o)

Nariz, if you have room, and wish to do so. You could buy one single potato from different varieties, and label where each was planted. You may find the variety you enjoyed.

Just a suggestion. It may help if you also know the supermarket where the spoiled potaotoes were purchased.

We've been here for nearly five years now, Ladygardener, and I still pinch myself every morning to make sure I'm not dreaming! We feel very privileged to live in this fantastic region among such lovely people. I wish every GoYer a slice of my happiness. :o)
