I have a plot around my front garden that I would like to plant a hedge in. It is 11 meters long and about 1 meter wide. I like Red Robin (Photinia) and would like to incorporate these into it. I would also like to mix something else in that has a bit of colour and will attract the birds and other wildlife. We would like the maximum height to be about 5 foot. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Sounds like a great project.
Blackthorn - fruit for birds
Beech - for autumn colour
Dogwood - for winter colour
Crabapple - for fruit
Hazel - for wildlife
Holly - for winter colour and fruit
All the above are hedging plants. Oak is very good for wildlife but am not sure it would like being hedge sized.
Brambles, foxglove and raspberries are likely to grow in the hedge over time, as birds are attracted to the area.
