I have been given some strawberry plants. All they have as identity is "Fragaria Ostara". They have young shoots showing already. Should I plant them now indoors or in the cooler shed? I think they are a June fruiting variety.
Advice appreciated.

I planted Fragaria Ostara a few years back. I put them in a sunny raised bed and they self seeded, coming up every year, even in cracks in the patio like an alpine. I would just put them in the part of your garden where you want to grow them now, together with some mulch.

It is a good strawberry plant, with smallish but well flavoured fruit. I would get a net for later in the season as birds love them.

They do not like strong sunlight, so avoid spots that get the strong mid afternoon sun that we get in summer or plant with larger plants to shelter it.

How do I say thanks?
