Morning GoYers, I have a question for any galanthophiles out there:
Yesterday went to walk around Hodsock Priory to see the millions of snowdrops and came across this border with these ones planted in them -no name tag on them and there were none for sale in the garden shop. I would be pleased if someone could name them and tell me where is the best place to buy them from, if possible. They reminded me of pixie hats. They were stunning. I do hope someone can help they were pretty impressive in a huge clump. Many thanks in anticipation.

I did wonder if that was the case, but I thought that Leucojum flowered in the summer, I have some that do, so was a bit confused. Thank you for that.

The summer flowering Leucojum is L. aestivalis.
The other members of this group are now called Acis. They are all much smaller and more suitable for pot growing.

That is because they are not snowdrops, Galanthus, they are Leucojum vernalis, Snowflakes. Most decent G/C etc. sell the bulbs in Autumn.
