hi, can anyone tell me if this canary date palm has suffered from frost? dont think i did a good enough job with the fleece :-( it was nice and green and now is all light brown/beige in colour and the fronds have brown/black spots/marks on them,tho at the base it is still green and the fronds are still rigid...HELP please!!

Unfortunately, in a winter like the one we've had, some fleece would not be enough protection - should have been brought into a frost free place over winter. They're not fully hardy, but will tolerate being outside year round in a very mild areas of the country, if planted in an extremely sheltered, south facing spot, and provided we don't get an arctic blast. I know Bedfordshire is down south, but I also know it gets pretty cold in that county, colder than London.
If you want to give it a chance, remove all the dead fronds at the end of March, wait and see if any new growth appears.
